Rawlings Caps

Founded in St. Louis in 1887, Rawlings is best known for its baseball gloves, but has long manufactured an assortment of baseball equipment. The company notably produced St. Louis Cardinals and Browns caps for decades, but they also made caps for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Philadelphia A's and the Pittsburgh Pirates, along with a number of minor league and college teams. The oldest Rawlings cap in this collection was worn by the Cedar Rapid Raiders in 1937, and the company's name is imprinted on the leather band. The last two teams to wear Rawlings caps were the Cardinals and the Pirates in the early 1960s. The last cap displayed below was made by Rawlings in 1964 for the 20th anniversary of the 1944 Browns, which won their only AL pennant that year.
