Hartland Statues
First sold by Hartland Plastics of Hartland, WI, in 1958, Hartland' s baseball figures depicted 17 of baseball's biggest contemporary stars, along with Babe Ruth and a batboy. Displayed here are (from the upper left) Ted Williams, Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Nellie Fox, Yogi Berra, Ernie Banks, Eddie Matthews, Warren Spahn, Hank Aaron, Wille Mays and Duke Snider. Made with mold-injected acetate plastic resin, the figurines were a hit with kids, but Revlon bought out the company in 1963 and ended the production so they could repurpose the equipment. As result, statues of Casey Stengel and Jim Gentile were never issued. Unrivaled among baseball figures for their realism and attention to detail, the statues are highly collectible today.
