During baseball's earliest days, players wore caps to keep the sun out their eyes. Over the next century, the baseball cap evolved into both a practical piece of athletic equipment and a uniquely American fashion statement. Made of wool and easily worn out, old caps were easily discarded, making them tough to find today. The ones displayed here date mostly from the mid-20th century. Besides caps, also shown here is an assortment of baseball memorabilia, mostly from the mid-20th century. So grab some peanuts and Cracker Jacks, enjoy your visit, and let me know if you have any questions — Chris
